José Nava Freyre
Born in Mexico City, José always had a passion for books and after reading Tolkien for the first time, he became hard-core fantasy fan. He’s worked as an English teacher, a freelance editor and a product analyst. Currently studying in MLitt Publishing Studies, his focus is on Stryvling Press, hoping to make this year the most successful yet for the whole team.

Racheal Kizza
Racheal, a cultural practitioner from Uganda, is passionate about curating diverse literary experiences. Her love for books led her to pursue an MLitt in Publishing Studies, with aspirations for a career in editorial. She finds comfort in reading and also enjoys spiced tea, music, and travelling.

Cora Brown
Cora graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in 2022 from University of Nevada, Reno. She moved to Scotland to earn her master’s degree and to pursue a career in publishing. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and crafting. She has a love for creative self expression and is excited to continue working with people’s stories during her work as an editor.

Hannah Morton
Hannah graduated with an English degree from Grand Canyon University in 2024 before moving to Scotland to pursue her MLitt in Publishing at the University of Stirling. She is originally from Galena, Ohio but most recently called Spokane, Washington home. In her spare time, Hannah loves to read, travel, and quilt. She dreams of one day finding a job that combines her love of history with her love of words and hopes that her publishing degree will aid her in that effort.

Kayla Dougan
Kayla is a current post-graduate Publishing student, and graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2024 with a Bachelor’s in English Literature. Outside the Stryvling editorial team, they also edit for literary magazine ‘From Glasgow to Saturn’ and beta reader in their free time. In the future, they hope to be involved in publishing experimental literature.

Amber Clydesdale
Originally from Belfast, Amber moved to Glasgow in 2020 to study English Literature at the University of Glasgow. After graduating, her love of books led her to apply for Stirling’s MLitt Publishing Studies course as a part-time student, with the goal of a career in editorial. Her hobbies include reading, going for coffee, and rewatching Gilmore Girls.

Design and Layout Lead
Olivia Wood
Olivia Wood is the Design and Layout Lead for Stryvling. She holds a BA Honours in English and History from the University of Stirling and is working to complete her Publishing Masters. Olivia holds a passion for all things creative – drawing, writing, reading, embroidery and knitting – and hopes to use this creative flare to cultivate a career in production and design. Her favourite things to do are listen to music and savour a good cup of coffee, while trying (and failing) to not mistake her dog for a weighted blanket.

Elz Young
Elz graduated from Wofford College in 2024 with a BA in English before studying publishing at Stirling. She plans on entering the academic publishing industry after her masters and is interested in the creativity of editorial design. When not studying, Elz likes to bake, hike, and make pottery.

With a degree in Communications and International Publishing from China, Wanming’s journey has been one of passionate vocation. It is her hope that this Mlitt allows her the opportunity to take her skills to the next level to see what impact she can have on the publishing industry. Leah Cameron
Leah is a Glasgow-based creative interested in small press independent publishing.
Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2020 with a BDes in Illustration, Leah has been engaged with the comics and zine community of Glasgow ever since. Leah is currently pursuing an MLitt in Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling.

Jasmine James
Jasmine graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in Modern History and gained early experience in the industry through a publishing internship. After spending a year and a half in Australia, she developed a love for travel and a deep appreciation for the international nature of publishing. This has sparked her growing interest in rights sales and the opportunity to connect books with new audiences worldwide. Aside from travel, Jasmine loves to read and fit in a gym session when time allows.

Konna Papanikolaou
Konna has been a bookworm since she was a child but hates pretentious readers who only read classics. Proudly Greek, she never fails to mention it in any conversation, along with missing the sun, the sea and her cat. Konna’s background is in Communication, Media and Cultural studies, which she studied at Panteion University in Athens. She has gained some experience in Marketing and Museology, but ultimately had to chase her Publishing dreams.

Chelsey Hahmann
Chelsey is an English literature graduate and aspiring publisher doing her masters degree. She spends all of her disposable income on books, taking a particular interest in literary fiction (though her guilty pleasure is romance). She controversially prefers paperbacks and doesn’t understand why anyone would prefer bulky hardbacks. When she’s not reading, she’s dancing, and when she’s not dancing, she’s travelling.

Chloe Richardson
With a background in English, Journalism, and Publishing Studies, Chloe is avidly inquisitive about the potential of the creative industries to amplify voices and foster meaningful conversations. When not working with books, she enjoys painting, a good cup of tea, and researching new topics that spark her curiosity. Chloe hopes that in the future she can contribute to ensuring a more accessible, inclusive publishing industry.

Khushi Shokeen
Khushi is originally from New Delhi, India and had her first international experience when she moved to Scotland to pursue a career in publishing. Her bachelor’s in philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi helped her understand that the world isn’t just confined to her tiny comfort bubble and that there’s a lot more out there. Currently, she’s at the University of Stirling, learning more about the world, discovering herself and broadening her horizons.

Alessia is from Italy and graduated from the University of Florence with a bachelor’s degree in Modern Italian Literature. After taking a gap period to travel across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, she is currently studying Publishing at Stirling. She has developed a deep passion for the classics of Italian literature, enjoys traveling, and would love to visit Asia.

Emmanuel Omeiza Momoh
Emmanuel is a Commonwealth Shared Scholar pursuing an MLitt Publishing Studies degree at the University of Stirling. Previously, he obtained a Bachelor’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. His research interests include academic publishing, copyright management, and open access. Besides his role at the Stryvling Press, he also interns at the Scottish Universities Press, where he supports open access initiatives. For leisure, Emmanuel enjoys playing the piano, hiking, and writing.

Molly Richardson
Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism, Molly is excited to put the skills she’s learnt to use at Stryvling, while studying on the publishing course. She is a proud nerd at heart, spending her spare time playing tabletop role playing games with friends. Molly is currently furthering her abilities through her own creative projects and hopes to one day run her own publishing house.

Ni Putu Catriona ‘Iona’ Leys
Iona graduated with a BA in English at Edinburgh Napier University in 2024, after previously living most of her life in Indonesia. She volunteered at Pain Concern Edinburgh as their Editorial Assistant, where she had her fair share of administrative work. This inspired her to want to transition into a publishing career and study a MLitt in Publishing. In her spare time, Iona loves going for long strolls around Stirling and volunteering at the local Oxfam. She is looking forward to working together with the Stryvling team and she hopes this project turns out well.
